Wedding invitation examples for Filipino couples, by style
Wedding invitation examples in five styles, from gold frames to Filipiniana piña, plus an annotated sample of a complete Filipino invitation with entourage.
Most Filipino wedding invitation examples fall into five styles: classic, modern, Filipiniana, romantic and bold. The look changes, but a complete invitation carries the same parts in every style: who is hosting, your full names, date and venues, the entourage with your ninong and ninang, the dress code and an RSVP deadline.
Below, each style has a live example you can open on your phone, scroll and even RSVP on. Further down is an annotated wedding card sample with every part labelled. If you'd rather browse them all at once, the sample gallery groups every design by mood.
How do you choose an invitation style?
Start from the venue and the dress code, then pick the style that matches both. A cathedral wedding with Barong and long gowns reads odd next to a neon poster invitation. A garden wedding in Tagaytay can carry pressed flowers and a relaxed font.
Two quick tests help:
- Would your oldest guest understand it at a glance? If the date is hidden in a design trick, the design loses.
- Does it match your motif colours? Pull them from your colour palette or wedding motif so the invitation, attire guide and reception look like one wedding.
Classic and formal examples
Classic invitations use serif type, centred lines, a frame or border and a lot of cream or ivory. They suit church weddings, hotel receptions and families who want the traditional "Mr. and Mrs. request the honour of your presence" host line.

The Regal sample puts the names inside a gilt frame with gold corner ornaments. It's the closest digital match to a foil-stamped card.

The Regency sample looks like a formal engraved card: Bodoni names, a double rule border, line-drawn wisteria and the date spelled out in words. If you want the look of stationery without the printing bill, start here.
Quieter options in the same family are the Classic and Heirloom samples, which lead with a photo and plain serif type.
Modern and minimal examples
Modern invitations drop the ornament. They lean on one typeface, big margins and a single photo. They fit civil weddings, museum or restaurant venues, and couples who find formal wording stiff. This is also where most "simple wedding invitation" searches end up.

The Minimal sample is almost all whitespace: names, date, venue and one monochrome photo.

The Maison sample goes the other way. The names are set enormous, like a magazine cover, with one oxblood accent. For a darker, moodier take, see Ink; for a sans-serif, high-contrast one, see Modern.
Filipiniana examples
A Filipiniana invitation borrows from Filipino craft and dress: piña and calado lace, banana-leaf green, capiz, sampaguita, abaca paper for printed suites. It pairs naturally with a Filipiniana or Barong dress code. Some couples also write the section headings in Tagalog. FilipinoWedding.com suggests "Mga Gabay sa Aming Buhay" (the guides of our lives) for the sponsors list.

The Piña sample opens with "Ikakasal na" under a scalloped calado lace edge, puts the photo in a gold arch and labels its menu in Tagalog: Programa, Mga Lugar, Detalye. It works for couples who want heritage without a costume-party feel. For full Tagalog wording, see our guide to a wedding invitation in Tagalog.
Romantic and garden examples
Romantic invitations are soft: script names, florals, blush or sage, often a garden or arch photo. They suit outdoor venues, afternoon ceremonies and a "Together with their families" host line.

The Romantic sample leads with a full-width garden photo and a countdown to the day. It also has a timed schedule and a live RSVP form you can try, so open it to see how a guest moves through a digital invitation.

The Terracotta sample needs no photo at all. A drawn arch and a few leaves carry it, which helps if your prenup photos aren't ready yet.
Bold and unexpected examples
Bold invitations break the rules on purpose: heavy black type, thick borders, dark backgrounds, a theme. They fit city venues, reception-only parties and couples whose friends will screenshot the invitation to share it.

The Brutalist sample uses all-caps names, a thick black frame and typewriter-style details. At the other extreme, Magical is deep twilight violet with gold accents and floating sparkles, for a fairy-tale theme.
One caution for this group: test it on your titas. If the date or venue gets lost in the style, keep the details and tone the style down.
Complete wedding card sample, annotated
A complete Filipino invitation has seven parts, whether printed or digital. Nuptials PH breaks a printed suite into the main invite, an entourage card, an RSVP card and the envelope. A digital invitation puts the same parts on one scrolling page.
Here's a short annotated example. The bracketed notes explain each line.
Mr. and Mrs. [Bride's father's full name]
and Mr. and Mrs. [Groom's father's full name]
request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their children[Bride's full name] and [Groom's full name]
Saturday, the thirteenth of February, two thousand twenty-seven, at three o'clock in the afternoon
[Church name], [City]Reception to follow at [Venue], [City]
Principal Sponsors: Mr. and Mrs. [Full name] · Mr. and Mrs. [Full name] · …
Candle: Mr. and Mrs. [Full name] · Veil: Mr. and Mrs. [Full name] · Cord: Mr. and Mrs. [Full name]Attire: Formal. Barong or suit for gentlemen, long gown or Filipiniana for ladies.
Kindly reply by the second of January, 2027.
What each part does:
| Part | What goes in it | Common mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Host line | Parents (traditional) or "Together with their families" (modern) | Leaving out one set of parents |
| Names | Both full names, as the families know them | Nicknames on a formal card |
| Date, time, venues | Ceremony and reception, each with a city | Only one venue when the reception is elsewhere |
| Principal sponsors | Full names, usually as couples | Misspelled names, which families remember |
| Secondary sponsors | Candle, veil and cord pairs, each named under its role | Listing roles with no names |
| Dress code | A named level plus one example outfit | "Semi-formal" alone, which guests read five ways |
| RSVP | A specific date and one way to reply | "Kindly RSVP" with no date |
Sponsors also have a legal job. The Family Code (Articles 3 and 6) requires at least two witnesses of legal age, and they sign the marriage certificate. Principal sponsors often sign as those witnesses. Our entourage list guide covers every role and the order they're listed in, and the sponsors guide covers how many to ask.
For the exact wording of each line, church and civil versions included, use our invitation wording samples. For a civil ceremony, a shorter civil wedding invitation sample drops most of the entourage. If you want the order of sections on the page, see the wedding invitation format guide.
When should the RSVP deadline be?
Four to six weeks before the wedding. Bride & Breakfast puts the first deadline about a month out, because suppliers need a final headcount soon after. Send the invitations 10 to 12 weeks before the wedding so guests have at least a month to answer. Our guide on getting guests to RSVP covers the follow-up.
Printed vs digital invitation examples
The styles above work in both formats. Printed versions add paper, envelopes and delivery. A folded card with two or three inserts costs ₱150 to ₱200 a piece before VAT at Sinag Printing Press, with a 20-piece minimum and 7 working days of production (checked September 2026).
Digital versions go out through the apps guests already use. DataReportal puts Messenger's ad reach at 83.3 percent of Filipino adults. Paper still matters for some guests: Event Nest advises printed cards for principal sponsors and older relatives, and a link for friends and peers.
The mixed route is common: print 20 cards for sponsors and elders, send a link to everyone else. Full costs for 150 guests are in digital vs printed wedding invitations. If you're printing, wedding invitation card design covers paper, type and layout, and the wedding invitation template guide lists templates you can edit yourself.
Turning an example into your invitation
If all you need is a pretty image to post in the family group chat, a free Canva template does that job. Where Ceremo differs is what happens after you send it.
Every sample above is a Ceremo template, and all 13 are available on the free plan. You get the same page with your names, entourage, dress code and venues, and each household gets its own RSVP link to paste into Messenger or Viber. Guests answer without an account, and you're notified when a household replies. You can add photos of your printed cards to the invitation, so the sponsors' paper suite and everyone else's link match. The colour presets shown in some samples, like Regal's Emerald & Gold, need Premium.
Ceremo is free for up to 50 guests. Bigger lists need Premium, a one-time ₱2,499. Pick the example closest to your wedding and start from it in the invitation maker.
Frequently asked questions
What should a Filipino wedding invitation include?
The hosts, the couple's full names, the date and time, the ceremony and reception venues, the entourage with principal and secondary sponsors, the dress code and an RSVP deadline with a way to reply. Printed suites often move the entourage and RSVP onto separate insert cards.
Where do principal sponsors go on a wedding invitation?
On the entourage page or insert card, listed right after the parents and before the secondary sponsors and attendants. Write each sponsor's full name, usually as a pair, for example Mr. and Mrs. followed by the husband's full name, and check every spelling with the family.
What is a simple wedding invitation?
A simple wedding invitation is one card or one screen with the essentials: names, date, time, venue, dress code and RSVP. The entourage can sit on a separate page, which keeps the main card clean even when the sponsor list is long.
How far ahead should we send wedding invitations?
Send them 10 to 12 weeks before the wedding and set the RSVP deadline 4 to 6 weeks before it. That leaves at least a month between the send date and the deadline, and time to chase late replies before the caterer needs a final count.
Can a wedding invitation be digital in the Philippines?
Yes. Many couples send a link through Messenger or Viber to most guests and print a small batch for principal sponsors and elders, who often expect a card delivered in person.
