Choose your web address, or use your own domain

Give your invitation an address like yournames.useceremo.com, or connect a domain you bought, like yournames.com.

Every invitation gets a web address from Ceremo. On Premium you can make it yours: a custom address like yournames.useceremo.com, or a domain you bought, like yournames.com.

Pick a custom address

  1. Open the design studio and go to the Share tab.
  2. Under Custom URL, type the name you want, like "yournames". Your address becomes yournames.useceremo.com.
  3. Use 3 to 30 characters: lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens.

Changing it later breaks links that use the old custom address. Old custom links don't redirect to the new one. Your original Ceremo link keeps working, so pick the name before you send your invitations.

Connect your own domain

You need a custom address first, because your domain points to it.

  1. Buy your domain from a domain provider.
  2. In the Share tab, under Your Own Domain, type your domain and click Connect.
  3. Ceremo shows one record, with a Type, Name and Value. Copy it into the DNS settings where you bought your domain.
  4. Come back and check again. It usually takes a few minutes, and can take up to a day.

The status tells you where things stand:

  • Waiting for DNS: Ceremo can't see your record yet.
  • Securing…: your record works, and Ceremo is setting up the secure connection.
  • Live: your invitation is at your own address.
  • Needs attention: something changed. Check the record at your domain provider.

Once your domain is live, your QR codes, share links and guests' personal RSVP links all use it.

Tips for common providers

  • A bare domain (yournames.com, without www): some providers won't accept this kind of record there. Add the record to www instead, connect the www address, then set your bare domain to forward to it.
  • Spaceship: always use www. Spaceship accepts the record on a bare domain and shows it as fine, but changes it behind the scenes so your site never connects. Connect www, then forward your bare domain with their URL Redirect tab.
  • Cloudflare: set the record to DNS only by clicking the orange cloud so it turns grey. Left orange, your site won't load.

Is a custom address part of Premium?

Yes. The custom address and your own domain are both part of Premium.

What if I disconnect my domain?

Your invitation goes back to its Ceremo address. Anyone who saved or printed your domain can no longer reach it.

My link preview doesn't show on my own domain.

Chat apps keep their own copy of a preview. Open your social preview and click Refresh Facebook, then share the link again.
